Tikê-done Bî (/ˈtikɘ/ /ˈdone/ [ugly] [spur]) is a temperate Town located in the Mèrevaqêyê Zone of the Union of Engineers.

The name Tikê-done Bî is derived from the Iron Elvish language, as Tikê-done Bî was founded by Snuthosh Zlëm, who was culturaly Iron Elven.

Climate

Tikê-done Bî has a yearly average temperature of 25°C (77°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a warm 29°C (84°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a pleasant 22°C (71°F). Tikê-done Bî receives an average of 283 cm/y (111 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the spring. Tikê-done Bî covers an area of nearly 5 km2 (2 mi2), and an average elevation of 1810 m (5938 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Tikê-done Bî was founded durring the late 13th century in summer of the year 1158, by Snuthosh Zlëm. The establishment of Tikê-done Bî suffered from many setbacks, delays, and obsticles, most notably a group of Tikê-done Bî which required millitary assistance exterminate before the community could finish being built.

Tikê-done Bî was built using the conventions of Iron Elven durring the late 13th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Tikê-done Bî is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature masoned stone construction which prominantly features pointed arches, pointed ribbed vault cielings, flying buttress', and window tracery all of which share a simmilar gemoetetic patern halfway between organic and inorganic in design formaing a very distinct aesthetically integrated style. BUildings tend to reach for the havens, and more expencive homes are easily identified by their floor count as well as the addition of decorative features intigrated into the building's design such as statues, gargoyals, and embelished joinery.

Tikê-done Bî is was constructed arround several premissive gravel mainstreets which cross one another at certain axies, with smaller streets branching off of them to premit acess to the many buildings deeper into the road network. The overall fashion is remenessent of a circulatory system, or other organic construct, and is quite effishent in its design. The town is protected by a renforced stone fence which sits atop earthwork defences, for some of the best inexpencive defences a town of Tikê-done Bî's size could have. The well-designed, yet cheep has suffered a visible ammount of structural damage, leaving them effectivly useless. One can't help but wonder why the has not yet effected repairs.

Tikê-done Bî seems to be abandoned at first. There are people present, working their trades and going about their business like any community, it’s just they are absurdly quiet. Just as you start to think there might be trouble, you see most of them are reading. The entire town feels like a library, with those not reading remaining quite to not disturb those who have their nose in a book. The longer you remain in Tikê-done Bî the more you start to wonder if you’ve entered some strange open-concept University rather than a town, but you can’t quite say such with certainty.

Civic Infrastructure

Tikê-done Bî has an Office of Civil Vicary, which is responsible for providing a livelyhood for all officialy recognised religious figures within Tikê-done Bî.

Tikê-done Bî has a Gravedigger's Guild, which is responsible for collecting the dead and laying them to rest according to all applicable laws and religious customs.

Tikê-done Bî has a Highwayman's Guild, which is tasked with maintaining the roads and highways leading into town as well as keeping them safe for travelers.

Tikê-done Bî has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain Tikê-done Bî's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.

Tikê-done Bî possesses a Galvanic Power Grid, which brings galvanic current to most if not all buildings in town, and permits a great many consumer goods to function within the Town. Tikê-done Bî's grid is powered by a god's will and kindness.

Tikê-done Bî has a first rate hospital which caters to anyone in need of long term medical care.

Tikê-done Bî has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands.

Tikê-done Bî has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Tikê-done Bî is home to a University which provides higher education in a variety of fields, and also serves as a research institute for those same fields.

Cultural Notes

Tikê-done Bî's mayor's house was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is which made use of the classical orders and mathematically precise ratios of height and width combined with a desire for symmetry, proportion, and harmony. It used columns, pediments, arches and domes are imaginatively in buildings of all types. Decorative features were seen as largely unnecessary as the sheer beauty of the structure itself was often close to art. However, many buildings with large ceiling spaces had their ceilings decorated with elaborate paintings, simply because the large flat spaces could feel wasted.

Due to the actions of local Kami, autumn is recurring in Tikê-done Bî.

The Begedhi, Seedling near Tikê-done Bî are known to be quite timid.

Tikê-done Bî's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in winter and involves destroying a prepared ritual vessel to channel Wild Magic energies of tier 1 via moments of science.

Economy

Points of Interest

Tikê-done Bî was unknowingly built atop something unstable, and now that substrate is crumbling. It may be swampy ground or a decaying coastline, or it could be an ancient buried city that’s now giving way. In the case of some antique habitation, the denizens that once lived there might be boiling upward as their home is collapsing, or new opportunities may be revealed even as the community’s present structure is ruined.

Due to a magical anomaly, Tikê-done Bî is directly accessible from a nearby river, despite the lack of a physical connection between the town's pond and the river.

POI

History

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the early 2nd century Mere Thol began to boil, and released a thick toxic cloud from beneath its waters which was isolated to the area around Tikê-done Bî, which was swallowed by the fumes for several days. Tikê-done Bî lost 175 people, 157 livestock, and 34 buildings in the disaster, though it is of note the local plant life flourished after the disaster. The disaster is referred to as the Terror Wind.
